Scan Gauge
Does anyone know if a scan gauge can be put on a z31? A friend of mine has one in his cobalt ss, but his plugs into the obd plug. He says I can get one for mine, I just have to have it wired into the computer. I was just wondering if anyone makes one for the z31, if not how would I be able to put one in my 85 zxt, if this is even possible.

OR.... You could just get the ecu codes the EASY way. :D FYI... an 85 ZXT is a lil bit OLDER technology than a brand new Cobalt SS... just a lil.

it's already built into the ECU. You just count the flashing lights to get the codes.

Yes, but the scan gauge displays horsepower, 0-60 times, timing, etc. I'm just wondering if it possible to put one on this car.

Are these gauges universal? Are there any write ups on this subject?

i think they are crap other wise the people that make dyno's would go out of business and shops wouldnt use them any more. i spose it could do a 0-60 time semi acuratly. just go to the track. get a 1/4 mile and a 60foot time, the ones that mean something.
