Question about Catalytic Converter

Folks I hate the Catalytic Converter on my 300zxTurbo. I just fixed my Emission/Fuel problem, thanks to some of you that really help me narrow the problem. Now my Catalytic Converter is just an annoying piece of equipment. I'm in Kentucky so I don't have a California emmissions vehicle. What can I do with it? Have anyone outthere ever replace it?

Or take off the cat, cut open the top of it, empty it out, weld the top back on and reinstall it. Still looks like the cat is there if they still do a visual inspection. Costs nothing too.

here in Canada you don't need a cat convertor on cars older than 1996. I just did a header back exhaust on my 84 NA with a muffler, sounded really nice, not too loud and it was def not ricey. I am planning on doing the same with my 84 turbo, and plus, you can take the cats in for scrap and they pay around $70 per cat here. so well worth it to put towards a new exhaust.
