Problems with the clutch

Alright so before i parked my car for the winter it started to seem that the clutch was going so i decided to buy a new one and wait till spring to put it in, I found a good deal for a stage 2 clutch for only $150. W/e that doesn't really matter but over the winter i've done some research and i've heard of on the 84 Z's that sometime it might just be the hydraulic clutch line or w/e. I noticed over the winter that my break line was leaking somewhere and it ran out of brake fluid and i heard the hydraulic clutch runs of that if anybody has any information or idea for me please help me all i wanna do is drive my car again.

Was the clutch slipping or just having a tough time engaging/disengagin? If it was actually slipping then it was the clutch itself. It was the latter then it was most likely a hydraulic issue. As far as whether the clutch master cylinder draws its fluid from the brake reservoir, I'm not too familiar with the Z31's setup. But a lot of cars do share reservoirs between the two.

oh dear lord. please buy a haynes manual.

the clutch and brake pedal are both hydraulic. they both run off brake fluid. THEY ARE BOTH COMPLETELY INDEPENDANT OF EACHOTHER.
