Oil Pressure Troubleshooting
 

Hello everyone,

I've got an 87 Z31 NA I picked up recently that always just shows no oil pressure. I picked up a replacement sender unit, did a full oil change with a synthetic blend, cleaned the connector, fired her up aaand...still shows no oil pressure.

Just hoping someone can point me in the right direction of what I should look at next, is it typical for the gauge itself to fail? The car drives just fine, so I'm pretty sure it's not a case of actually having no oil pressure!

Check the wiring. And make sure you've downloaded the FSM:

I had the same problem, and unlike sphincter boy, I'm posting the results in my finds. the black fuse able link wire fried, not sure why but I recently did a mod with the maxima alt. and my voltage shot up to 18v's! all I did was twist wire back together for now. probably replace later.
Update 10/10. My Zia won't charge. Batter at 12 vs and only 70 amps. Something fried the electric system from running 18 V's
