nistune?
Hey folks, has anyone here installed nistune? I have an 85 n/a and I am thinking of buying Nistune and installing it. I am not looking for a step by step guide just some general information on what I will need to use it and how much of a pain it is to install and use. thanks.

i have just been looking into that myself. looks like it will run around $400 total, but the major downside is that you have to put it on a dyno to tune it.

there's a bit of a pain to modify your ecu to accept the nistune board. But, if you're somewhat saavy on soldering/desoldering boards and chips, then it shouldn't be too hard to accomplish.
As for tuning, if you don't want to spend hours on an expensive dyno, you could just purchase a wideband A/F setup and a pyrometer set. These two devices, added to your nistune software, can help you tune your setup at home. Albeit much longer of a process. But, if you ever change anything in your setup, you've already got the capability to tune the change. |
Duowing installed Nistune for his Z31T ecu'd 280zxt... I'm sure he'll chime in when he sees this.
