in the middle of timing belt change on a 86 300zx turbo need help

ok ... I have the service manual, haynes, chiltons, and every internet write up I could find ... they are all pretty vague when it comes to nitty gritty stuff ... sometimes they'll say remove this part or that part and they don't tell you how to do it ... example, not one of these sources says exactally how to remove the crank outer pulley ... they mention the six bolts which I removed but none of them mention the best way to remove the center bolt ... do I have to keep one of the six bolts in to hold the pulley in place, apply a wrench, then ratchet the bigger center bolt? ... do I use a pulley puller device?, there's different ones ... do I use the rectangle triple tree shaped one? or the claw type one? ... are the only marks I'm concered with the 2 camshaft marks and the crankshaft timing pulley mark? ... what about the outer crank pulley marks the 0 degree mark and such? ... how do you get to the power steering pump pulley adjustment nut? its almost totally hidden and very hard to get at, I had to cut off old belt because I couldn't reach it, getting new belt back on is going to be tricky ... I replaced the fuel filter, that was the biggest pain in the ass even though its right in front of your face it's really tight in there ... whats the best way to get at the 2,4,6 spark plugs remove all the hoses and crap above? I got 1,3,5 ... sorry about ramblin on , I need some real answers here please help

On the crank pulley main bolt: If you have access to an impact gun then that would be the easiest and safest way. Another option, and the way I do it at home is get the correct size socket for the crank bolt and use a very long breaker bar. Afix the breaker bar to the pulley bolt so that it is touching the ground in the direction of engine rotation. Disable the ignition and give the key a quick turn and the bolt will break free as the breaker bar is prevented from turning by the ground. Sure it's unorthodox and somebody will tell you it's not safe. But I've removed numerous crank pulley bolts on several vehicles using this means cause I dont have an impact gun at home. I've never had any issues doing it this way.

And you'l lmost likely need to get a puller to get the actual pulley off as it's likely to be on there pretty good. You can get a loaner puller from autoparts stores like Autozone. Usually it's the triple tree type you mentioned that gets loaned out for crank pulleys.

Man j you beat me to the method of breaking the crank bolt free! Or if you plan to work on cars and stuff I just bought a harmonic balancer puller. It cost me $10 and I've already ended up using it multiple times.

they prestented me with 3 different pulley pullers at autozone and I rented the 2 claw type ones and not the triple tree thingy ... DOH! now that I'm in there the triple tree one looks like the one
