How much will all cost?

Does anyone know how much a whole engine swap will cost? From N/A to Turbo in a 86 300zx.

$8.82 trillion... and 24 cents.

Um... ya can't really put a price tag on an engine swap, because it depends on how much you pay for the engine, parts, wires, supplies, etc... and how well you can do it yourself.

Technically, you COULD do it for free. And there ya have it.

Technically, you COULD do it for free.
That is almost a true statement, however, nothing but the advice you'll get here is free. :023:

If you have a really nice, and solid N/A then I'd say do the change. If, on the other-hand, the N/A is only a so-so car, dump it and procure a decent turbo model Z. A little freshening and you'd be done.

The least expensive way to get the necessary parts to do the N/A to turbo conversion is to buy a complete donor turbo car. That shouldn't cost you more than $ 500 plus maybe an additional $ 100 for miscellaneous items you'll need, like wires, hoses, clamps, band-aids, and etc.

So, if you buy no labor (do it all yourself), and you're a good scrounger, you can do a very basic conversion for less than $ 1000.
