Frickin clutch!!!!!!

Ok guys. I took my 300zx out for a test drive on tuesday and was testing the new clutch (stage 3 racing clutch). I go to the atm and then to the bank. At the bank I have to start fighting it a little bit to get it into gear. Also the pedal was feeling off. The pedal would move about 3 inches before the clutch would actually start to disengage. On the way back to the school I push in the clutch to downshift and the damn thing snaps to the floor and stays there. I can pull it up off of the floor and when I touch it again the damn thing snaps back down and stays down    !!!!!!!!! Could someone please help me out here because I do not have any F-in idea what to do. I feel like blowing the (censored) thing up.

The master or the slave cylinder blew an O-ring. You won't know which one failed until you replace one. However, hydraulics tend to go down like dominos. Replace one part and the next one down the line will fail due to the increased pressure. The increased clutch spring pressure caused your hydraulic failure, I'd bet.

My advice is to replace them both to eliminate the guess-work on which one blew, and, if you don't replace them both now, you will by the time this ordeal is done. Advance, AutoZone, or any national parts retailer will have these rebuilt parts, for cheap

Now is a great time to loose the clutch dampner (replace with 240Z front brake hose), and make your clutch have a more solid feel.

Good luck, and keep your cool....

Thanks Johnzboy. What do you mean by clutch dampner? For the solid feel part I did put on a stainless steel clutch hose from zcarparts.com. The slave cylinder is brand new but the clutch master cylinder is a used one.
