How much can you afford.

The fact you just asked means you probably can not prefrom the swap.

It is possible BUT very very expensive. In fact the VG30ET will be a better motor in the end; plus with the 1000s you will spend for a VG30DETT swap you can make one hell of a powerful VG30ET that is an all around performer.

Go ahead and scra the idea. Your looking at custom engine and tranny mounts, custom driveshaft, custom shifter, a new cooling system (mostly custom), an intercooler, piping for the intake and intercooler, custom wiring harness, ecu, VG30DETT, custom vaccuum system, and many many other things.

Yes can you search? JWT sells bigger turbochargers. http://www.jimwolftechnology.com/customer_results.asp

www.redz31.com (has a section about it)

www.Z31.com

http://z31.com/tfaq/

Stock you have a T25 which isn't going to get you anywhere. Your best bet will be a good T3/T4.

No it seems as if you just don't know anything. The quick way to get power is with the VG30ET.

I'll have to side with James, I'll put my 84ZXT up against any TT dollar for dollar. The fact is I can do more with less money than you can with the TT. Also a single turbo will out perform a TT set up. As a matter of fact my car with a stock T-3 turbo and a $40.00 boost controller out runs TT all day long. They better have some serious mods to run with mine now. There is also ways to to get more displacement with the VG30ET 3.4Liters MORE Save yourself alot of time and $, 400 hp is very obtainable and after that in these cars is pointless. It would be all you can do to keep the rear planted and hooking up. Hell I have a hard time in Street War class keeping mine straight at the drag strip with a welded rear! On top of that I bet Im not putting out more than 250-260 hp to the rear wheels in my car.

Dude the simple fact is this. If you want to go with a TT it would be better to just go out and get one. But the money you spend just to buy one will be about more than half you could spend just to do simple mods to your z31. Two turbos doesnt necessarily mean that there better than one. A matter of fact having two turbos usually means more turbo lag. That is what you dont want. Having a single turbo with a blowoff valve, boost and hks exhaust would give you one bad machine. Add an intercooler and wastegate and i'll put money on your beast anyday. Im not trying to talk you out of doing the swap because you should do what you want because it is possible and original but its gonna cost you a few pretty pennies. if You any questions on the swap email me and I'll give you info on what you need to do. My uncle completed the swap about 3 months ago. It gonna cost alot.

look im not trying to have sum dumb *** argument with anyone i was only looking for a little info,
but i do plan on keeping the turbo and just modding it
and im grateful for all the advice youve givin me its really appreciated
but in my opinion i still still belive in the end you COULD achieve overall more power with a tt if certain precautions are taken i know using the vg30et is more bang for the buck but what im aiming for is a more
complete power gain.

No one is trying to argue with you bro. We are just saying that the vg30 will produce a lot of power for not a lot of money. But if money in not a problem then doing the swap would be a nice to see because there are not to many of them out there. Nobodies debating your gonna do what you wanna do. Good luck.

Actually it means less. That is why TTs are typically more desirable for road racing and single set-ups are better for drag. The thing is typically a twin turbo set-up uses two smaller turbochargers that spool up fast, but don't make that much boost efficiently. And the VG30ET will make just as much power as a VG30DETT ever will. The VG30DETT is not a superior motor.

Yes. Currently a VG30ET is making 661rwhp the guy is 1sickZ on Z31.com and the motor has alot more in it (only dyno'd at 20psi). A 280Z powered by a VG30ET is making around 750rwhp right now. Steve Mitchell is making around 600rwhp with his VG33ET. And there are many more high powered VG30ET and VG33ET cars running around. Escort racing built a motor that put down around 1200rwhp. All of the drag cars are making insane amounts of power. Trust me don't try to argue with me.
