Chts

Engines just going back together, stopped for a day since i broke an exhaust stud and i dont have my easy outs at the moment, so i decided to run some tests, pulled out the CHTS, and chucked it on the multimeter, FSM says a general reading of 2.3 to 2.7 ohms is good, through my heat test my dropped to 1.70 ohms at around 140 degrees and cold at 2 degrees showed up as 3.7 ohm, im guessing its stuffed.

So i rang around today trying to find a new CHTS. With no luck all i could find was one for 80 dollars, and for 80 dollars, i'd hope it'd never break again in my lifetime.

i came to the conclusion that perhaps people didnt quite catch on when i said Cylinder head temp sensor, so i'll ring around tommorow saying "Coolant temp sensor"

Ahhhh the joy of living in australia.

Also just a personal note, the heads on my z31 for 160k km were in really bad nick, i had to reseat and reface the valves and seats, replace all the studs now and i really wish the heads were built as good as the bottom end, which may i add, still had the factory cross hatch hone marks in the bore and the bearings wer un marked. still did the works tho.
