? About Transmission.

I have and 86 and a 87 300zx and ever time I put them in reverse they grinds, both of them!! or they acts like they don't want to go into grear.(yes I push the pedel all the way to the floor) Now the 87 tranny was just rebuilt over the summer and I just bought the 86Z, do all Z's do this? or just the two I got, everthing else is ok they both have a new clutch and slave cylinder the fluids are good so what else could it be, I don't know much about tranny, just wanted to know if someone could help :armata_PDT_31:

That shouldn't happen... you been grinding the gears a lot? :D Before putting it into reverse: stop, put it in first, then over to reverse.

NEVER PUT IT INTO REVERSE WHEN MOVING

Mine grinds going into reverse, I told my mechanic friend, he said to put it in first and then try reverse(like what NismoPick said). My friend said something about lining up the rails or something like that... all I know is that it works most of the time.

always first to reverse... yeesh. cause reverse does not have any synchrose.... every body knows that... but if you got old or shitty of not enough tranny fluid it will grind more too.
