89 maxima engine into 84 300zx.
 

I have a blown 84 vg30 engine and am looking for an engine to replace it. I was wondering if there are any problems with dropping in an 89 maxima engine.

I'm aware of needing a spacer for the pulleys and the dipstick location but is there anything other then that?

This is my problem. Is there any reason an 89 would not work.

Is the 89 Maxima engine a 24 valve dohc? If not, it will work. The point they are making is the Maxima VG30E will work, the redesigned 90+ Maxima VG30DE will not.
