87 turbo, is it too old?

i have an 87 turbo, 2 seater, body is in mint condition and the engine runs great but it has 120,000 miles on it. I would like to modify the engine up to as far as nos. So i was wondering if the engine is too old? Should i re-build it 1st or look for a less miled one? thanks for any ideas or insight.

the vg30 is pretty bullet proof, and 120k is not that much. the only thing you might worry about is the turbo, most turbos are iffy after 100k, but the rest of the motor will be good for at least twice the miles. btw, if you want it to last, stay away from nos, thats harsh on the motor. i believe there are people running 600hp with no nos.

2nd the VG30 is bullet proof. But if the timing belt hasnt been replaced recently you may want too do that first.

Yea any type of Nitrous system is going to drain the life from any engine immedietly. 120K isnt alot on a nissan engine plus its turboed. Check out 1sickZ's z31 at www.zxturbo.com Hes running 850 something now on his Z without nitrous. But I think on that site it shows him up to 600 somethin. Either way very high numbers indeed.
