330HP (@ wheel) at 12PSI - is this good? Last Updated on: 11/04/13

Having started my dream 10 years ago, my Z31 is finally in the tuning shop!

The car is in the process of being street tuned, but so far I have received the
following feedback from the Tuner:

"You car is making approximately 400HP at the flywheel when it makes 320-330whp on our dyno"
"Typical front engine RWD setups see 18-20% drivetrain loss to our dyno's "wheel horse power"

Turbo Specs: The car was originally worked on by Dan Blaske, from TSS who is now MIA, so
the following is from his invoice:

T3/T4 Hybrid Turbo Upgrade (Nissan T3 .63 a/r with stage 3, TO4B V-Trim 51lbs./min flow)
Upgrade Turbo (turbine housing bored to fit stage3 wheel, parts, seals, etc)

The Tuner is using pump gas 92/93 Octane.

The tuner states that he can't make power beyond 12psi due to detonation, although, she is rich,
not lean.

One final note: I do not know if Dan "degreed" the cams - at some point I will have this checked,
but the the Tuner told me that it would be 15 hours of labor with potential gains of about 15HP?

Balance of Specs:

z32 fuel pump
650cc injectors
mds ignigtion.
synder racing cams
adjustable cam gears.
3" exhaust
gready 2 boost controller
nistune modified 88 ecu
stock piston and rods
intercooler piping
88 block.
ferrea valvles
fuel pressure regulator
stock upper intake plennum with spacer
new fuel rail, with an lines and fittings
z32 maf

I'm waiting to get the HP / Torque numbers.

They must be used to dynoing Supras. 20% loss is insane. MAYBE in an automatic you would see that kind of loss.

I will say this... BOTH of my manual transmission Z31s showed a 12.5% loss on a dynojet.
