I am new to the z31 world with my newly purchased 86' 300zx turbo 5 spreed. I want to know what are the best intial mods for the car in order to make the car run decent. I was thinking on the lines of 3" turbo back exhaust, k&N filter, suspension technique springs, tokico illumina adjustable struts, manual boost controller, front mount intercooler, and a turbo xs rhfl BOV. How does this sound for a start???

 

skip the FMIC and BOV till you get into some real HP.

If you've got a turbo then you're already ahead of the NA gang. I'd start with the suspension. I'd stay away from the boost controller until you're ready to upgrade your fuel system. Otherwise, unless you've got enough self control, it can get you into trouble. So intercooler, fuel system, and boost controller can all be done at the same time and net you some serious gains.
