Buying an old z31, only issue is some body work and the vacuum canister. Planning for the future should i swap in the 2jz or rb30?

Usually when people ask about motor swaps, especially the "This or that engine?", they are far from actually doing a motor swap (no offense).
2JZ parts are easier and cheaper to come by, RB30 is a beast... Both require a lot of mechanical & electrical experience / knowledge, time, and money. Are you doing the swap yourself?

 

No offense taken, I don't plan to do it right away so I totally understand. The engine is in working condition so i'm just asking so that i can go ahead and start planning things. I wouldn't be doing it by myself either, the guy i would be working with has plenty experience with swaps and other car service.

 

In that case, go RB!
