Im new in the forum.

I have a black 1987 z31 turbo with manual transmission. Right know the car have installed a fs5r90a t5 transmission from a 84-86 z31 turbo.

I live in san juan puerto rico and here is very difficult to find the 5 speed tranny fs5r30a. This tranny is the original for the 87-89 z31 turbos.

I found somes z32tt manual trannys, but i dont know what parts or modificatios needed to install the z32tt tranny in my z31 turbo (1987)?

What do you recomend guys:

1. Buy a overaul rebuild kit for the t5 tranny? (bring me some sites to buy the kit).

2. Buy a fs5r30a tranny? (hard to find).

3. Install a z32tt tmanual tranny in my z31?

Any help from you guys will be appreciatte.

Im a fan of the T5 tranny.Rebuild it and fill it with BG synco shift.

Find an FS5R30A tranny. The Z32 tranny won't fit, so that's not an option. The T5 is a weaker transmission. Not sure why anyone would favor it over the better option.

 

i would vote for a FS5R30A or just find a n/a z31 tranny FS5W71C of course both of these transmission you will need to grab the driveshaft

 

have you tried fitting a Z32 tranny and did not work? or you think it will not fit?

 

Z32 trans has different bolt pattern on the bell housing. There are many dicussions about this topic on all the Z31 sites.
