What size Helicoil for cylinder?

hello, I'm not quite new. I've been lurking for a while and I've had my 1986 NA for quite some time (9 months) but I've been unable to work on it due to some financial struggles (I'm only 19.) but now I'm able to afford to put in the work and one of my initial repairs is repairing a stripped cylinder.

Does anyone know what size Helicoil kit I would need for this job? Or any tips? Thanks!

what are you calling a "stripped cylinder"??? the cylinder is what the piston moves in. If you are talking about a bolt then you need to buy a thread gage to find the size of the bolt. then buy the helicoil for that size. you can get a plastic one from amazon.com for about $5. here is one I find handy.

my tip is learn what it is that you are posting about so you don't look like a complete moron. you'll get some slack for being young but any more like the above and flames will descend upon you. however kudos for at least posting the year and engine type you are talking about. if you put that in your signature it will be there everytime you post.

Well, I was referring to a stripped cylinder head from where the spark plug can marry to the aluminum threads from sitting together for too long of a time. You did help me find a solution though, thank you.

Also, thank you for your wisdom. A little insight never harmed anyone.
