Transmission Issues

I'm new here, so I figured I would start off with a nice hello! (: Anyways, I'm looking at buying an '85 N/A but the transmission has issues with first and second gear. The previous owner says that it has very little power in those gears for awhile until it warms up, but then it runs perfectly fine. No grinding or other issues that he can tell. What would cause this, and how can I fix it?

Then it's probably not transmission related. Manual transmissions don't usually have "no power" temperature related problems.

Check the ecu codes.

Alright thats what I figured, o2 sensor or MAF sensor would probably be it right? Sorry, I'm used to dealing with my junky auto cavalier so Im really not sure what it would be. Thanks for the help, I'll be back with a lot more questions after i check it out/buy it (:
