PS... changing your oil is different than changing / adding tranny fluid.

what i did when i first out fluid in that trans was get a king piece of rubber tubing and route it through the trans tunnel and up to the engine compartment, then take a funnel, shove it in there and hose clamp it to the hose, it will make life easy when filling it up.

if yours is n/a then u can take off the shifter, i believe the 6 bolts and fill it up that way. i did this with my tranny, i have the 240sx tranny in my z. it was a pain getting the proper amount in the tranny but i found that to be the easiest way.

hoov100 Mar 31, 2008 07:28 PM

you can do it that way?

snwbrderphat540 Mar 31, 2008 08:13 PM

some yes you can hoov. and hoov also fills the tranny like i do. i got a funel and some hosing, alot actually. lol. also, the fill plu is located at the level it needs to filled to, why do you think its on the side and not the top? so you add till it starts to drip out. same with the rear diff. arent car manufacturers so smart sometimes!

Are you... are you... um... serious??? I learned how many pints are in a gallon in like first grade. If you missed that day, you could still type in those few little letters into GOOGLE and find the answer: http://www.google.com/search?client=...=Google+Search

1 US gallon = 8 US pints

tonsoffun300zx Mar 31, 2008 09:31 PM

ok so im going to buy a gallon and have some left over cool thanks nismo you are very helpful unlike certain ghey guys like snw and don't forget...snw!!!

snwbrderphat540 Mar 31, 2008 09:34 PM

me to don't hold your punches snw or are you afraid?

well back on the topic of how to actually fill the tranny, because i think that my way is easiest. i clamped (with some wire twisted around) a piece of fuel line about 8-10 inches long to the little nossel on the bottle. then i put the line in the hole and squeezed the bottle with a clamp. the only down side is that you end up requiring about a pint more then you can actually get into the tranny, because you can't get the bottle upside down.

well, it was easier on my car at least, where it was a bit harder to get to it from the top

tonsoffun300zx Apr 1, 2008 08:16 PM

i think im going to do it with a manual pump style thing

Niku-Sama Apr 14, 2008 11:51 PM

That's how I did it for mine, it wasn't bad at all. I really dislike the smell of tranny fluid though

tonsoffun300zx Apr 15, 2008 11:05 AM

i already did it a month ago but i just hooked up the bottle up to some vacuum hose and squeezed it, it was a not fun experience

my86z Apr 15, 2008 05:52 PM

That's why I got the pump that you put onto the liter bottles of gear lube. It's been the best tool I've purchased for my Z to date.
