Hello all! I just purchased a 1984 300zx this past week as a project car and I have to say I'm in love so far!

Yesterday when I was working on cleaning the inside of the car I got to the center console and I open the lid to clean out the previous owners various odds and ends and I see a switch. So after I finish cleaning everything up I start the car and try to see what it does exactly which was nothing at all.

So I decided not to worry about it since I still had to check the fuses in the kick panel thinking it might be something there. Again no luck after changing the bad ones out.

Does anyone else have this same switch or could it possibly have been an aftermarket thing they did to the car?

Nissan did not install any OEM switches inside the center console compartment. I have an 84 also purchased new. The switch is aftermarket and it’s probably for anti-theft. You’ll have to trace the switch’s wire and see where it goes in order to be sure.

We had a 50th aniver. Z31 on the showroom that had a switch in the front of the console but may have been port installed ,probably, alarm

It's a 50th AE without the turbo.

Did /does it have body sonic seats ? That had to be the coolest option from the 80s. It left Girls panting after a demo ha ha
