Throttle Body

how much does a thorttle body increase your horsepower?? do you think it is worth looking into for an 86 nissan 300zx turbo?

Re: Throttle Body

I've heard that it makes a big difference on turbos but not so much for the NA, of course I haven't tried it myself yet, but it's high on my list of priorities.

Re: Throttle Body

The difference that a throttle body can make for an engine is dependent how big an engine is and whether it is supercharged or turbocharged. In applications in which your engine's air consumption rate in CFM (cubic feet per minute) is large, a larger throttle body will increase the ease and rate at which air and fuel is inducted into your engine. I would guess for your application, a throttle body could afford you anywhere from 4 to 8 hp. With a bigger engine, gains will be much larger and for a smaller engine gains will be less noticeable. When working with turbocharged/supercharged engines in which fuel starvation can sometimes be a problem, a throttle body can do a world of good.
