Taking out the dash!
OH man, I'm pretty sure my z in angry with me right now. Talk about not knowing how to treat a lady! Seriously, I can't get the dash out. I have a (ehem) Haynes manual, but I can't find anywhere in it how to remove the dashboard. So 4 hours later, I'm stick tugging only to get more and more sun burnt. Ok so heres how it is, I got all the bolts from the radio area. I got one from the drivers side bottom corner and one from the passanger side bottom corner. What else do I need to do, my baby is in pieces right now, and I want her back together as soon as possible. BTW- I do have to remove the dash to get the vent faces off right? I'm trying to paint them and would rather have them where I could have em in front of me rather than mask off the whole interior of my car! Thanks ahead of time.

Thats service! Ok, but how do you get to the ones up top? I know theres the on top of the dash, but how do you take those off?

Look from through the glass. You should see little metal clips. Using a small screwdriver, push the metal tab forward and pry the vent up. Start on one end and work your way down. I think there are about 5 on the long vent and 3 on the short vent over the instrument cluster.

Will do, thanks. Now as soon as I get some pics I'll show you all what I'm doing. I might get some raised brows but so far it's looking pretty snazzy. BTW- is it a hard job changing the complete rack and pinion?

Dash customization done, and done. Back in a few with some pix. Close your eyes, and no peeking kids......
