T-top leaks
 

So does anyone know whats up with the leaks? I have heard the "drain tubes get stopped up" - I cannot seem to see where the water is coming from. its coming in the rear seal, weatherstrippings good, seals seem tight, ??? Help?

pour some water over the drain hole and see what happens. if it doesn't drain, blow it out with an air hose. if it does, replace the t-top seals.

Many times the door glass will leak at the top, rear of it's seal. There are door glass adjustment screws inside the door that will change to angle of the glass just enough to tighten up that upper, glass to rubber, seal. You may want to look at that.

Even if there is no damaged rubber, you can bet it has dried, shrunk, and lost some of it's ability to seal properly. Buying new will be costly, if you can even find any. Nissan will tell you those seals, and many others, are obsolete parts.

My 260z has those cheezy pop-up moon roofs that leak. What I do is coat the rubber with Vaseline and it seals them up pretty good. I think the petroleum jelly might actually expand the rubber a bit too.

So far, it hasn't dissolved the rubber and it stops the leaking. :wink:

Once a year is about good...

When it stops raining, I usually open it up, and the sun dries it out after a few times. Then it may leak again.

Just keep the rubber "moist" before it rains, LOL! :023:

Rubbing some vasoline along the seals helps too

EDIT: you've already been suggested that, sorry!

I always thought vasoline would rot the rubber seal

I use silicone on the weather striping, then a coat of Aerospace 303(for it's UV protection among it's other attributes.
