swapping 88 digital dash to 85?
 

would swapping a 1988 digital dash to a 1985 work? i have a working digital dash on a 1988 but my 1985 digital dash ins't working. i've tried the soldering trick on the power supply with no luck. so im wondering if i pull the dash, power supply, gauges, and everything else that connects to the dash (except senors) and putting it in the 1985, would that work? BTW i tried putting the 1988 power supply on the 1985 but one port was different, so i connected the one port that did fit and nothing happened. i'd really like to keep the digital dash on my 85.

for note, my dash on the 85 will flicker every so often, but it looks all glitched out. at one put i got it to stay on but nothing was moving (i was driving at the time).

also i am new to this website so sorry if i post this in the wrong area!

so a update on this.. feeling pretty stupid right now but i saw a video where someone said to replace the RW fuse and, well that fixed the dash. power supply is still bad but at least i can go out and buy one. posting pictures soon.

I think 88 had a pulse gen. Style speedo pick up , you need to compare schematics , it could save a lot of time
