Stuck Valve Cover Gasket

I've been doing a lot of cleaning around the engine and doing all the major tune up stuff, but I'm currently stuck with a valve cover gasket that's severely baked on in the groove of the valve cover and spent almost an hour just getting half an inch worth of gasket off.
Is there anything I can do that can easily remove that rubber gasket?

I've checked online for removers but most of them are only for solvent-based and anaerobic type gaskets.

Everything is good. Spent almost a month chipping away at the gasket, then soaked it in lacquer thinner and most of it came off. Wire wheel got the rest of the bits out, cleaned the surface, and repainted the groove with enamel.

Just saw your post. A brass scraper/chisel works well and is less likely to scratch the surface.

I did try using a little chisel that wasn't brass but it didn't really work out for me. I used a gasket hook tool to get underneath parallel to the surface of the groove and used the leverage to pry horizontally under the gasket, and pulled the loosened pieces upwards to remove them. I found that way worked the best out of all the other things I've tried
