Welcome to ZDriver! :006:

Are you asking for advice on which to buy? How to replace them? What do to?

You're only limited to the $$$ in your bank account. What will the car be used for and how do you want it to ride? Will it be on the track? Want a stiff or soft ride?

Help us help you...

Rear Shock for 1987 Nissan 300zx. Need new ones cheap

I have a 1987 300zx z31 that i need new rear shocks on. They don`t have the dust cover and the bushing with them. The owner before me threw out all the pieces. Does anyone know of any places that i can buy the rear shocks with all the parts for around $100. The car will be used for daily driving. I want the ride to be smooth.

Advance Auto Parts has rear shocks for as little as $20 each if you are just looking for making it drivable. I can't vouch for the quality of the part of ease of installation though. :102: That doesn't include dust covers, but they are on there too. Just look around on there and get an idea of what you can get for your budget. For a daily driver, I wouldn't go with super high end stuff myself, but probably not the $20 ones either.

Shocks

I am looking at a budget of $50 or so per shock, I can't find shocks with the dust cover. They are all factory with no dust cover. By the time you spend an extra $20 to $25 for factorry dust cover and rubber boot----better to up grade--

Hit the junk yards... grab dust covers, install on the shocks / struts of your choice, done. :023:

Why do you need dust boots? Do you plan on taking it through the Dakar rally or something?

Buy the dust covers new from Nissan then.
