U.S. cars have a 17 character VIN no. Pos. 1-11 of a VIN no. is coded information that identifies a car. Pos. 12-17 is the serial no. portion of the VIN no. I think some countries of the world have VIN numbers that are less than 17 characters. So 203040 is your car’s serial no. but it doesn’t mean your car was the 203,040 SS model to roll off an assembly line. Only Nissan knows how the serial no. correlates with the actual assembly line production no.
Nissan doesn’t want to answer your inquiry probably because there’s no claim or problem associated with it. And even if they do know what the production no. is, they probably don’t want to take the time to look it up because they’re not getting any payment for telling you what it is.
