New member here! Pics & Looking for Side Mirrors.

Hey guys! Well I personally don't own a 300zx but a very good friend of mine does. It is an '88 2 seater non turbo 5 speed. The deal with the car is, he bough it about 11months ago from a gentlemen whom let it sit for years. After he purchased it for a grand we gave it a little tune up and it drove great for about a month or 2. After that time he let the car sit as he didnt want to spend the money on tires or to fix brake lines that had cracked.

Just last week me and my buddy surprised my friend by fixing up the car for his birthday without him knowing. Replaced all metal brake lines with new, new t-stat, fixed guages, radio, and temp controls, replaced many fuses and realys, new rear end gear oil, oil and filter, and new tires all around.

Shes running good now and ready for the road once again :icon_super:

One issue it has is the reverse lights do not turn on. I checked all the fuses and the wiring to them. The bulbs I assume are good as they worked when it was parked almost a year ago, i could be wrong however. I have the Chiltons manual but am not sure how this engages, a switch on the transmission?

The temp guage and trip odometer on the digi dash only come on when you hit the cluster from above. I assume this is loose connection or saulder on the back of the dash, whats the difficulty on removing the digi dash?

And the darn e-brake :017: When the lever is pulled it seems to pull the cables okay, but there is no force or tension on the lever. The cable can be seen and heard hitting the exhaust so I know it is being pulled. It almost seems like the calipers are locked up but they move freely in my hand. Any ideas?

And I am also looking to purchase 2 side mirrors, any color with unbroken glass, PM me!

Thanks alot guys! :006:

Wow .. that Z with the stripes reminds me of one that I spotted just the other day ...

Anyway .. it could be the stop-tail light sensor located behind the rear panel that could be your issue with the rear lights ..

you should follow the cable from the rear brakes. I'm guessing it's broken or not actually attached to the brake.
