New fog lights don't work

I just got my new fog lights from Gunn Nissan, the entire housing. I installed them and Walla!, they still don't work. I was wondering if it has anything to do with the switch up on the dash board. It doesn't light up when I press it, but all my other switches do. I pulled it out to check the connection, with seems fine. I wish I knew what to look for and had a complete wiring diagram of my car. Ah well, [censored] it.

Better take a look at your fuses. If OK, then I'd go to the foglight relay - should be under hood - and find it. See if you notice another relay that uses the same part number and swap them. Part numbers should be printed on top of the relay easily read. Good luck.

Here is a picture of the relay. I noticed I am missing two, the one on the top is most likely the one I need, but no other relay fits it. The one on the bottom has no metal prongs to make a connection with the relay. I was reading my Haynes manual, and it says for 86 GLL models that the relay controls the aux driving lights and reverse lights (Which I just found out do not work, lights are both fine.) Does anyone know what each relay goes to? Thanks again
Robert

The relay box should be underhood on your passenger fender and holds up to 11 relays in the box depending on what options your car had. If your car came w/ factory fog lights position 30E in the relay box should have a blue relay in it. You can try any blue relay from that box to test with as they are interchangeable by color. I think the the part number is 25230-09980. Good luck.

Get a factory manual from Courtesy Nissan on CD or from your local dealer. Page EL-189 will answer your questions about where each relay goes.

Re: New fog lights don't work

Your download came through finally. The foglight relay is the blue one 2 over, 2 down from the left.

The missing relay 3 over, 3 down (25E) is A/T relay - if you have a M/T your car doesn't use it.

The missing relay 4 over, on top row is (32E) Is forthe M/T clutch inhibitor (car only starts w/ clutch depressed) or Inhibitor A/T for A/T equipped cars (shift lock on a/t shfter).

Good luck and get a factory manual.

Hey, thanks. I played around with it and switched out some relays, nothing yet. Later I will remove the assembly and check the wiring under it.
Thanks again for the info.

Re: New fog lights don't work

Well your right, sort of. First off the M/T clutch inhibitor is kind of funky. There was only two wires instead of a relay. Car won't start without those wires. I purchased a new relay from Nissan and obviously it does not work for it, car won't start - so I am using makeshift wires for it at the moment. I had the same idea for the foglights, and when I connect 3+5, they are always on, even when the button is off - the light for it is on. I connected 1 + 2 on it, nothing by itself. Both connected it was always on. I used multiple good relays, I think its in the wiring. Any suggestions on how to get it to work properly (Hah, I should never even work on my car - its embarrassing.)
Thanks again Texp51, you have been a big help - Where do you live at in Texas? I am also from the Lone Star State.

Keller - NE of Ft. Worth near Alliance Airport and the Texas Motor Speedway. I'm guessing your from near San Antonio judging from the Gunn Nissan comment. Good luck with the wiring - get a manual or borrow one from Gunn and you'll be fine. See ya.
