new Exhaust plans

I am looking to buy a 86 z31. The only thing is that it needs the catalytic converter and back. I found a exhaust that has a 2+2 extension that I need.(i dont know where that extension goes) I want to put a test pipe in place of the cat. I found a test pipe but its a 3" pipe. the exhaust kit doesn't tell me the size. So i don't know if they will fit together. Or if anyone knows a better way of doing this within a budget of 200 dollars then please let me know.
The links for the parts:
The exhaust kit- Motorsport! Performance Exhaust System, 84-85 300ZX Non Turbo - The Z Store! Nissan-Datsun 240Z 260Z 280Z 280ZX 300ZX ( Z31 Z32 ) 350Z 370Z Parts
2+2 extension- Motorsport! 2+2 Extension for 15-6026 Exhaust Kit, 84-85 300ZX - The Z Store! Nissan-Datsun 240Z 260Z 280Z 280ZX 300ZX ( Z31 Z32 ) 350Z 370Z Parts
Test pipe- https://www.andysautosport.com/test_...san_300zx.html
any advice is appreciated. thanks
p.s- if putting a cat on would be the better option that's fine, I just want the car louder than the stock exhaust makes it.

Replacing the cat will definitely throw this over the $200 budget....
To keep it under $200, have a local muffler shop make you a test pipe--which you may not be able to do because you're missing the cat?
If you don't have a cat to copy from, then the next cheapest option would be eBay and finding the cheapest test pipe made for the car. This could still keep you under budget.

Later on down the road, you could buy a universal cat and take it along with your test pipe to a muffler shop and have them weld on flanges (and pipe probably) for a bolt-in cat.

By the way... I don't think that test pipe you linked will fit. I recall both flanges on the cat being 2-bolt type. But, these cars are old and many have been modified--you should get under and check.

Did you install the exhaust system? How did it go and how does it sound?

I'm thinking about doing it to my '85.
