need help with a 1984 300ZX AE
I just bought a 1984 300ZX 50th Anniversary Edition from a neighbor for about $500 bucks(I think thats a steal?). The car runs great, except it needs a clutch and some minor body work around the rear fenders and rear hatch.
I was wondering if I should try to restore it to stock or should I just fix it up the way I like???? Will the car still hold the value if the paint and interior is custom??? I want to paint it a metallic dark cherry with a customized black interior. Can somebody please give me some direction on where to go with this project because I don't want to F*** Up a nice car. Thanks Pete P.S: Sorry for posting is the wrong spot |
Dude its your car do what you want...i think unique is better...The resell value on our car is low to begin with so i mean...it really doesnt matter what you do to it, as long as you dont rice it out....most people here will tell you RICE IS BAD! but agian whatever floats your boat...
Good luck, dont forget to come back with updates and pics. Rob |
If i were you I would keep a 50th anniversary edition stock in the exterior. get another Z31 thats not special and play with it and keep the 50th all nice. Thats just me though.

What value? J/K...do what you like. I wouldn't worry about resale value just don't put a honda wing on it.

Thanks...but one other question
I was just looking at the vin and other identification tags and I found out that it is not a 50th AE but just a 1984 Turbo GLL....but now it means I can do what ever I want....and I PROMISE I won't rice it out....got good plans ahead for her....one other question I have is can you find them in junkyard, I live in Ajax (20 minutes east of Toronto) I need to find one with a black interior because I don't like my burgundy one I have now.....So anyone know if there are and where can I find them.....Thanks

Alberto read the rest of the thread it was not an AE.

The sucks that it wasnt a 50th A.E. A lot of times there not though. 50th A.E. badges were sold with the car and they were in the glovebox when sold. All that had to be done was to put them on. Good thing you checked the VIN.
