Well for $20k I'd say the skys the limit for you my friend I'd start off with making sure everything is up to snuff. Give it a tune up and replace any major components like the timing belt and water pump just to be on the safe side. Then from there you can start working on modding it. You've got the turbo so you're already off to a good start. For mods check out what others are doing. Cardomain is a good place to see other peoples rides.

Welcome to ZDriver. And as long as you didn't get a bad apple of a Z you're sure to become a believer. They are great cars and good fun to drive. And RWD, you can't beat that

if you have $20k to play with, you should be able to build one hell of a z31. like jfairlady said, get everything in tip top shape first and foremost. then intake, exhaust, ecu, boost controller, intercooler, bigger turbo, suspension, etc, etc, etc.... go nuts. with that kind of cash, you should be able to get that car hauling some serious ***. hell, you could even slap in an rb26dett.

I would start by staying in school. Your grammar is atrocious. Please learn to use periods, commas, and capital letters where they are needed.

And I seriously doubt you have 20k in hand. If you did, you wouldn’t even have considered a Z31. And especially not a Z31 for $250.

I was wondering the same? why a Z31 if you have $20k?

Well if i had 20k and i had the choice between a z31 and z32, Id go with a z31... Only because I dont like how wide + heavy the z32 is compared to the z31.

I'd actually probably go with another S130 or anotheR s30 first if I had that much, but I sure wouldn't mind another Z31. Personally if I had $20k and if the Z31 was offered to me more for $250 and was in decent shape, I see no reason why I'd pass it up. Although the actual condition of this particular Z is still unknown.

just to get things straight

As for all of you who are hating on me because i happen to be well off with finances . i am a self employed realestate agent who happens to love the z31 model , don't get me wrong i love the z32 but the size and style of the z31 is very appealing to me, maybe once i complete this project i will move on to a z32 , but all in all i saw and drove in a z31 when i was younger and have loved the car ever since, i started this thread for help and some input from you guys because you guys know what is good or bad , not to be shot down because i am laying my situation out on the table. so for all of you who actually have some valuable info , tips, tricks ect...... please post , if you are just gonna be mad because i actually have a career that pays more than your job at the local mobil on the run then don't waste my time. as for pictures i will post some pics soon i am currently in the middle of trucking the car from maine to new hampshire. thanks for your input to all those who actually left valuable info

i got a stupid question some of the z32's are tt is it possible to tt the z31's or would i have to transplant another engine? another question does anybody have any good links where i could pick up some quality parts like nismo ect....because i would like to put this car together right rather than miss out on some much needed hp and styling. i tried z1 motorsports but them seem to major in the z32 field rather than the z31 maybe i'm blind but i saw nothing on the page that had to do with my model of z thanks for your help guys

If you really do have $20k to play with, find a performance shop near you, drop the car off, and tell them what you want.

Personally? My shopping list would look like:
- Built VG33 running 8.5 to 8.8:1 compression.
- GT35R turbo.
- Big intercooler.
- lpperformance.com plenum

goal of around 600 rwhp.

Let the shop worry about the details of getting it there.

engine mods should run in the neighborhood of 7 to 10k

Didn't realize this place was much closer to you:
http://www.hekimianracing.com/nissan3lna.html

I'm guessing they could build you a fantastic version of the VG33 for a little less money than their VG30 NA version.

anything is possible, but it's not really necessary. you can get plenty of HP out of a single turbo setup. i agree with zbum, take it to a shop, tell them what you want it to do, throw lots of money at them and let them worry about the details.

oh, and one of these would probably get you moving in the right direction.

Anyone remember that movie "Mr. Mom"?

"Gonna rewire the whole room"

"Oh yeah, you gonna make it all 220?"

"220, 221... Whatever it takes"

Rod.
