Leaking fuild from middle of car

I need the input of some of the Z masters. I have what looks to be an oil leak from underneath the middle of the car. Near the transmission (5-speed) feels like oil when I touch it and rub it between my fingers. Not sure what type of fuild it really is though and I check the oil level every week, which hasn't needed any oil but I'm staining my garage floor and hearing it from the spouse

Where could the leak be coming from ? and what do I need to do to correct it? I have put some CD 2 in the oil for any additional leaks.

Probably rear main seal if it is oil. If its PS fluid it could be coming from the steering rack (end boot area). But from what you describe, most likely the rear main engine seal. To fix is pull tranny and replace the seal.

I agree that the rear main is the most likely culprit. While you have the tranny out for replacing that, it would be a VERY good idea to replace the front and rear oil seals on the transmission too (the input and output shaft seals). It may also be a good time to replace the clutch if needed.
