Let me start from the begining, last week I replaced my ball joints on my 84 300zx n/a, this is the second time I had to do this, the passenger side went as before, pressed out, pressed in then presto, done. However, the driverside was a different story, I had to press out the old one, everything is good up until this point, once press out, I went to press the new one in, but to my surprise I found that I could easiely install it without pressing it inn, just push hold and clamp. Didn't make sense, so I droped it out, measured it. But it was the same size. Now its loose and wobbles. I was thinking last night on what I could try to fix this thing, Is it possible to cut a pop can, (yes I know) then press it into place to take up the extra slack, or should I tack weld the sides? Any idea or suggestions would be great. Thanks. Oh yeah one more thing, Does anyone know the best and most logical way to adjust the air/fuel ratio on this thing. Seems like its always running rich. most likely you bent your control arm. The original ball joints are not meant to be pressed out, and when they are, the place that does it may accidently bend the control arm a little.
