i need mods

ok guys...im new to this forum, but i really like it. anyway, i got $1000 for graduation from my dad, and i was wondering what i should do with it. i want to put at least some of it into my engine so i was thinking cams, 3 angle valve job, port & polished heads, what do you think? i want a power increase but i dont want NOS. thanks guys rick
