i hate electrical problems
alright, my electrical system on my 87na is afu. so far the ONLY things that i can find working are the headlights (no motor on them) windows, and lumbar control (yippee! i use it so much). the car starts and runs fine, but NO ELECTRICAL works. no speedo (dont use that much anyways lol), gagues, lights (except headlights), ac, clock, stereo, NOTHING. so i started looking at the fuseable links (by the battery) and the one labled BAT is toast. im hoping and guessing that if i replace it my problems will be solved (just happend and parts stores are closed ) but i was wondering if theres anything else i should check or be worried about. the link looks old and like the insulation was already cracked before it blew. i washed my car earlier, and maybe something got wet??? well, any input is greatly appreciated.
thanks

Well god only knows the 300zx is a wiring nightmare. For something from the late 80's there sure are a hell of a lot of digital instruments in it.
But either u got something we or the wires r just old and crusty. Mite be a good idea to replace as many as possible...but that could take a real long time.

ugh, no kidding, that job would take a LOT of beer & cigarettes. but everything has worked just fine till now so im gonna pop in a new fuseable link and cross my fingers, i dont have time to track down something and no cash for the shop (but theyd probably just break it more lol).

ok...when I first bought my Z, my REAR taillights didnt work, my headlight motors didnt work, none of my dash illumination worked (but the digital display DID work) and I thought a BUNCH of fuses were bad. well I changed ONE tiny one under the driverside kick panel and like magic everything started working, and has been....check the fuses under your kick panel and let us know.

while you guys are on the subject of electrical... I was wondering if anyone had first hand experience with the heater blower motor fuse constantly burning out. It goes out at completely random times. Sometimes it takes a few days, other times only a few minutes.

well, i finally got a chance to get to the dealer and buy my $15 friggin fuse that nobody else carries. popped it in and voila, everything works. the old fuse was corroded as hell and the insulation was brittle, looked like it just got wet and finally died. so everything works now and life is good. i rewarded the z with new pirelli p4000s on the rear. what a difference it makes when your rear tires arent bald
thanks for the help
