How Hard would it Be....

Hello everyone. Heres whats up, I have an 84 n/a, the timeing sliped and bent all the exhaust valves. I found a 85 Turbo, and bought it. Is it possible for me to use My block and just swap the intake and heads from the turbo motor as well as all the harnesses and ecu. I thought that I read somewhere that the n/a has too much comprestion and would blow the head gasket, is this true. Some help/advice would be great, thanks

does the turbo motor run? if so, then its easier to swap the whole engine than it is to swap heads. if not, the heads and intake will fit just fine. if yoiure not very experienced with turbo engines, i wouldnt attempt putting the turbo charger on the n/a engine.

Actually, the higher compression of the N/A engine could be a plus. You would need less boost to achieve the same net results.

However, if the turbo engine is a good one, I'd be more inclined to just use it. It would make everything more simple and simple is a good concept.

higher compression=less boost. you'd have more power potential just using the lower compression turbo engine. however, if youre not concerned with using higher boost, the n/a engine with a turbo will have better low-end torque...so ive heard.
