ok I got my power supply box out and apart for the digital dash but I have no clue what Im actually looking for on the circuit board itself

I see a Bunch of big rounds things (maybe capacitors) and square things and some small things inbetween

then on the other side of the board is where the connections come throught and there a couple of microscopic black boxes and brown ones if I remember right...

what should I take apart and resolder or should I just put solder over every connection I see???



please help a non circuit board guy

 

On the bottom, you're looking for any places the solder joints are broken or not good. On the top, you're looking for any parts that are burned or look like something leaked out of them.
