help me plz!!
 

here's my problem. once again. I get driving down the road and after about 5 minutes the car seizes and wont start. i checked after it wasnt running to see if it was getting any spark to the coil, and it wasn't. i replaced the coil because it wasnt putting out a good spark. what can cause the car to get warm and stop sending spark? plz help. without this car i have to pimp the 86 celebrity to school.-bad

I had the same problem in an old nissan sentra 85. Wasn't the fuel pump, ended up being the distributor cap or the rotor, I forgot which one....

thx. i was just working on it. so it is officially break time. i just found something that connects to the hot lead and then to the coil. i dunno what it is for sure. has silicon on it so i think it is a sensor. looks like it has been shorted out. i unplugged it and when it is unplugged the car wont start. i think this may be the prob.

A friend of mine had the same problem with his car. Turned out to be a bad distributer. Check that.

I had the same problem on my 86zx. It plagued me for four evil months several years back. Everyone had an opinion on what was wrong with it. The dealer said it was the ecu, another mechanic said idle up solenoid, I replaced just about everything under the hood before I finally found out that it was the crank angle sensor in the distributer. It is a pita to diagnos and everything else always seemed to make sense when I replaced it, but the car kept on doing the same ddmm thing. I would get your dist. checked out before you go through all the trouble of fixing everything else first!
