We have a 84 Nissan 300 Zx that turned out to be a nightmare, it was driven on to a car dolly, towed 300 miles in neutral, now the car doesn't move, will shift into all gears just no movement, not really sure what to do here, and it's the auto non turbo model

Welcome to ZDriver! :006:

Unfortunately you committed the unpardonable sin of towing an auto with the drive wheels down... This is a huge NO-NO that anyone and everyone everywhere should have warned you about before towing any vehicle with a dolly. An auto trans car must either be towed with drive wheels up, driveshaft removed, or flatbedded.

Having said that, the 80's and 90's Nissan auto transmissions have a very high rate of failure. My advice would be to do the checks outlined in the FSM and call a local trans shop and ask for advice / diagnosis. Then be prepared for the bad news that your transmission is toast.

On the bright side, now would be the time to convert to manual. :)

It is at the shop now, towed it there last night, I didn't realize these transmissions didn't have a rear pickup pump like a lot of the other autos do, so it's not to be towed more than 40mph in no excess of 30mi which we towed it at 80mph for 300+ miles, bad deal seeming this car is in virtually mint condition, garages it's whole life, and maintenance records for everything, it's beautiful and I'm beating myself up over not spending the little extra money for a flatbed, does anyone have a e4n71b sitting around they would want to sell and ship to me? Could set it up on eBay and pay thru PayPal for a good one, I don't want to lose the value of the car buy swapping it to manual, the auto was an option and is worth more in factory condition.

In life, we good ones and bad ones...at least you got a bad one out of the way and no one got hurt.
