i guess i did forget about them, i guess it's just that they don't stick out in my mind. but some of those cars i do agree with, but others i find absolutely awful to look at(the mitsu eclipse). i guess i just bury my head in the sand when people start talking about car's from the 90s, id rather talk about hot rods and muscle cars, back when beautiful and fast were synonymous, when they designed the best-looking car they could, and than just drop in a preposterously large engine to make it go fast! lord i hate emissions regulations...

in my opinion, i attribute the decline of attractiveness in the automotive industry to a widening gap between the creative and not creative. just like the gap between low class and high class. yea it sounds wierd, but it's a long story, or explanation rather. i basically mean that the super smart people lack creativity and with the population increase you have to be super smart to design cars. so we get smart cars, not pretty ones.

and axman, can you bash him for liking jap cars? this is a nissan forum that you are on. and as similar as they are, a lot of nissan fans must be able to appreciate a mitsu too. (not like, appreciate)

and i was just discussing with someone FWD handling. maybe they are good in snow, but it's ironic how they are easier to spin with becaue the front end rises when you accelerate, taking the weight off the front wheels and on the back ones

american muscle cars were never beautiful. they are poorly built all heavy metal 90 degree flat faced beasts with primitive engine components and suspension. they are like line backers. they cant cut and turn fast but they take off quick and powerfully and hard heavy as *****. they are aggressive looking. thats all. the 90's made beautiful cars, there was alot of thought put into them and thats why production costs rendered them un worthy of being built, because what they sold thanks to the higher prices didnt cover what they cost to make especially with the ever increasing emmisions regulations. look at all those cars now. lots of them sell for more than they cost originally or the same amount. other than the Z32 its only starting to raise in price to what it originally was. and the eclipse will probably never raise up because there were so many of them made and sold.

wow, this one went WAY off topic. 4wd Civic Wunder Wagon FTMFW in the snow!!! it may be slow and *** ugly, but dammit, it gets the job done, and cheaply.

Y'all don't think the late '60s/ early '70s Chargers, Cudas, Road Runners, Challengers, etc. were good-looking cars?? I think they're awesome.

muscle cars werent beautiful, but they looked good.... the 56' Continental Mark II, the 61-67 Lincoln Continentals, those were beautiful cars, long and low, not too boxy(like some muscle cars) and not too round(like todays cars and the eclipse and talon).

and altho this has went off-topic, i think the general consensus was that if ur a good driver with snow tires, it will be ok(anyone disagree?)

I dont recomend using any RWD vehicle in snow and ice.
I have driven a 280zx in the snow and I thought it did ok. Looking back I just think the snow conditions weren't very bad. Since gettting a FWD car I can see a vast improvement in handling in the snow. AWD would be even better.

In even just 1 inch of snow last Monday I drove past many RWD (and FWD, ha!) cars piled up on the side of the road. I'm just using regular street tires too. I'd rather walk than take my Z out in the snow again.

about you being a good driver? or that a good driver wont have problems in the snow? and "todays" eclips and talong (aka the 3g and 4g are crap and ugly) the 2G they rounded the *** a little much but that was it. they are finally starting to mix curves with cuts. Z32 showed that, the new skyline shows that, actually al skylines did. and so on.

Bleach: if RWD is the only concern with winter driving, than i am not worried..

snwbrdr: i actually saw a 1g today, and it wasnt that bad, i still dont like the 2g... ya curves with cuts is where its at, all that is needed is a balance.. chrysler had it in the mid-50s with the "100-million dollar look", so did Continental, but they all forgot about curves as the 70s went on and than they went from too boxy to too curvy all of a sudden in the 90s, but there were some cars that defied the trend(bmw 5- and 6-series, prelude, skyline, corvette)

how would AWD be better? from my understanding, which isn't just a guess, i've actually studied this, AWD has the potential to pull with only 1 wheel. this is the only way it can work that it is safe for road driving. 4WD is not safe with good traction because the front and back have to spin at the same speeds, causing jutter or wheel hop. i'd say 4WD is better when you are actually worried about the conditions. AWD is not the best unless it has that computerized traction control crap or a middle diff lock

yeah, now we can agree. oh and 1G talon is what i like, and certain year, they have to be done right, certain years they re-created some stuff like lights and moldings and kinda ugly. like these, 2 of my friends cars both WERE in the 11-12 range. now one needs better tuning for about 400awhp and a new chassis lol, the other is getting his engine fully rebuilt and should make prolyl around 600-700 awhp
