It could be your power supply (easier and cheaper to fix) but it could also be the amplifier on the circuitboard itself. Possible to repair those (if you know how to desolder the old one out and a new one in) although I've had only a 60% success rate on them. I don't bother fixing them anymore - I just swap them out.
