A/C cuts out ?

I've got an '87 5 speed and the a/c runs fine, but if I hit the gas (taking it over 2500 rpm) the a/c cuts out & blows hot air. Some times it comes back if I let off the gas, but most of the time it doesn't come back unless I turn the a/c off and back on again. Anybody have any thoughts, or similar experiences?

very common. vacuum leak. replace all the underhood vacuum lines to start with. probably going to have to replace a couple actuators as well though.
