boost gauge doesn't work
 

I have a 1984 turbo 300z with a five speed and my boost gauge does not work, the turbo works and I know that it holds boost but it does not register anything, it just stays at vacuum, 7 or something. how can i check the gauge or should i just buy a new one from autometer, I'd like to keep it stock looking inside, if possible.
