Battery Problem?

I had the stock battery in the car and it kept dying. When im driving the car it will jus shut off sometimes and i would have to jump start and it would start working. Took it to autozone the battery was bad so i bought a optima redtop ( ive had this battery in my lexus in 2002 than my lincoln till now never dies best battery ever.) so i put a new one in the Z and worked fine till couple of hours later. im at the light and the car keeps sputtering and its about to like die. radio turns off lights turn off but the car keeps like sputtering and moving and im going like 10 mph. Got it home and jump started it and it works fine.
Whats the problem?

sounds like you could use a test on your ecu----do the guages work?? did it charge at all before it died?? can you hear the fuel pump prime ????

my black bitch would not maintain until i had the damn thing(ecu) replaced---you are not able to jump start your friends offa yer Z .....you are not allowed to ......rollingpush starts are ok, but no cables involved----branes fade.....

hay---aint my rules---the car makes them up----talk to her......good luck---

Sounds like your alternator.

Do you have a battery tie down?

it does sound alternator toasty. if you buy a new one besure to get the lifetime warranty. you'll use it more often than not, i know i did.

i started it today after its been sitting for 2 days cuz i was out of town
i cranked it and it slowly started but it started.
better than no start at all and then i turned it off and started it again
and it started slowly and worked!
