Auto to manual conversion
I have been considering doing a auto-manual swap on my 88 z31 and using the guide on zenonz31.com, i feel like i can do it. the only question is, once i get all the parts, about how long (hours) does it take and since i have an n/a, do i need to get the exhaust parts it lists? any help would be grateful since i need my car for my job.
here's the link for the step by step guide from zenonz31.com. http://www.xenonz31.com/autotomanualswap.html thanks =] |
How long it takes depends on your mechanical skill level. It will take a pro-mechanic a lot less time than a 14 year old cheer leader chick. :D
For the complete R&R for a first timer, you're looking at 10-20 hours. |
okay. i've got a year and a half of exp. working on cars. i had originally guessed 20 hrs, maybe 2 - 3 days.

rent or buy a tranny jack. with perserverance and don't take a lot of beer breaks. air ratchet maybe a buddy for some help. should be doable in under 12 hours. if you can pressure wash underside save a lot of dirt in the eye. remove seats. put down windows before you disconnect battery.

thanks for all the help.

Because if you don't, you will be braking every time you shift. :D
