No, it does not really matter. But when you have something this rare, for personal reasons, I would just like to know. Having # 1 out of 5,000 would be nice to know. Out of 5,000 AE, how many do you think are still on the road. Wouldn't you like to know?

Re: 300ZXae info
hate to say it, but it isn't that rare. 5454 were made. some auto, some manuals. but try to find a white 89 turbo with tan interior. that's rare.
The number of your car is really not relevent since none of them were numbered.
As far as how many are on the road, yes, I would love to know. So I could tell all the morons advertising that "an estimated 2000 of these rare cars are still running" they are idiots. I've seen way too many of them for the number to be that low. There's one or two in the autotrader all the time down here. And if you search autotrader online, there's always a few on there too. And have you seen the number of them that have been on e-bay?
You have a special edition car. Not a rare car.

Re: 300ZXae info
That number is the key code for your car. It's probably preceded by an "x". Correct?

Re: 300ZXae info
There are two different AE editions..
There is the 1984 AE edition, and a limited edition 50th AE.
The limited ones are #'d I had #75 (also Canadian)
They have 5 lug 16" wheels, ALL are turbos ALL are black and pewter two tone. Lots of neat extras too.. body sonic seats, all leather interior, digi dash, larger flares, and the nose piece is different.. looks like an 86 front end..
BTW mine had a badge in the glove box that had a gold emblem and the # on it.

Re: 300ZXae info
The reason I ask, is that we are not the original owners. Some mods have been done and my wife and I want to make this as stock as possible.
Nothing else, nothing more, limited, rare, whatever........Just need a little info on how/where do some research to find out a little more than how fast it goes, or how much it's worth.

Re: 300ZXae info
as stock as possible? remove all the mods.
since no one knows what number AE they have (with only a few exceptions) the number of your car is irrelevent.
EVERY AE came exactly the same way. Only, some were 5-speeds, and some were automatic. Otherwise, they are all exactly the same.
