1986 NA2T project

So im doing a na2t swap on my 1986 300zx and Ive run into a problem. I have taken off all the bolts to the oil pan and it still wont come out. It looks like the lip of the oil pan nearest the the transmission wont let it come out no matter what i try. It looks like the plate of the transmission wont let the oil pan come out so should i remove the transmission? Can someone please help me out, i have worked on it all day with nothing but frustration.

Pull engine, it makes life easy.

My engine is pulled out but theirs a plate that is holding the oil pan from coming out. Do i need to unbolt the transmission to remove the oil pan?? Theirs a picture posted in the link below of what I'm referring to.

So i did a na2t swap on my car and i ran into some concerning issues. I started the car and it started and idles great. When i rev my engine as its parked everything seams fine. How ever when i go to drive it i hear a weird ticking/clicking sound around my engine bay under acceleration. It also could be explained as keys in a can if that helps. I thought it could be a exhaust leak or its getting detonation. As for my setup i have a 1987 ecu with a t25 turbo and the correct injectors and all. The only thing i can think of is the timing needs advanced because of the t25 turbo but other than that i dont know. What do you guys think? thanks

Well you need to get the o2 sensor right too. The 87 turbos came with a t3 but im sure thats not why its making that sound. post a vid up.

Okay i will post a vid tomorrow in the morning. As for the ecu i just used my non turbo 1986 O2 sensor because it matches up to the 1987 ecu i have as seen in the link below. I now think it is a exhaust leak because i didn't put a donut gasket between the turbo exhaust elbow and down pipe. I wasn't sure because i can not find one anywhere online or in my state for that matter. Also i am pretty sure i need to advance my timing for the t25 turbo with a 1987 ecu but what exactly would it do? Or better yet does anyone know whether the t25 z31 turbo ecu's advance or retard the timing? Im think if i advance it a little the boost will kick in sooner and it wont be so gutless or am i wrong?

The turbo doesn't effect the timing at all. I believe the timing for a 87t is 10btdc but I may be wrong, so check your haynes manual.

Haynes manual says to see the sticker under the hood.

For something like this, you should go to the factory service manual anyway. There were some year to year differences that will not be covered in the Haynes manual.
