Suspension Decisions

I know i want ST springs, i just cant choose which Shocks to get. I was looking at blistein...I think they would work good. but there HELLA xpensive. Any other suggestions for good shocks that will give good performance and be a lil less expensive?

The Tokico Advance Handling Kit also looks appealing...then agian i hear that its not very good...but then agian its cheap? You think that would be enough?

And you guyz are gonna slap me for this one, but what is the differance between a strut and a shock?

This is one of those personal preference / opinion things. There is no right answer.

My personal preference is the Eibach progressive rate springs and the Tokico blues for dampers. The Eibachs aren't too harsh, but as the weight gets shifted to them, they get stiffer as needed.

Those items, coupled with new poly bushings and you have a nice comfortable, but, firm ride.

"And you guyz are gonna slap me for this one, but what is the differance between a strut and a shock?'

Not much... Strut carries more weight, and is located on the front of the car and is very nearly a "coil-over" set up.

I could never explain it properly, but, here's a good article that will.

Rob-

Take a look at the suspension in the front of your car and compare it to what you have in the rear. You have struts up front and shocks in the rear. The strut housing has the shock absorber inside of the spring. The whole assembly comes out in one piece and it's recommended to take it apart using a spring compressor.

Not only spring compressors. You have to have a special tool to take it apart and re-torque the top bolt. But blistens are really good yes they are expensive but they are a good upgrade.

I have the B+G springs, i love them (no pics yet though). I just received my blues in th mail, from what I hear, for the money thry are great. I picked those up for less tham 200 bucks a set. I just got back from vacation and am looking foreward to putting them on.

speaking of struts, does anybody have a part number for the strut housing, and does the housing come as an assembly with the spindle? I bent my spindle really bad. It is so bad that I can't replace my brake pads.
